UGH, email

Well, while the server/host transition seemed to go fairly well with the launch of the new site, I seem to be having some email issues.  This week, in particular.  Some of you may be getting the autoreply from the server, but I may not be getting your emails -- and you may not be getting mine!  Hang in there, y'all.  We will get this fixed.  But I just wanted you all to be aware that if I appear to be ignoring you, I'm not!  I am also getting caught up on last week's phone calls today and tomorrow, so expect to hear from me if you've left a message.  Thanks, everyone!

As promised...

a few snapshots from Imaging USA.  I wish I had one that turned out well with my merit print -- "Just Some Good Ol' Boys" -- which most of y'all have seen hanging in the studio.  But here is Angie from Minnesota at the Alamo -- in the ice storm.  What a dedicated tourist.  And one of me and Laura (who is a photographer in San Marcos) that shows you how professional photographers should never be allowed to use point and shoot cameras.

I'll be back with real news later on this week!

Finally back!

Well, I didn't go that far but it sure seems like it!  I attended our national convention in San Antonio and got stuck down there -- partly because of the weather, and partly because the hotel valet lost my car keys.  So now I am back and trying to catch up!  If you've been trying to call, I apologize... I have not yet made it to check phone messages, and now my voice is gone.  So, I am working on catching up on emails and phone calls today.  If you get a call from someone who is whispering, it's not a crank call.  It's just me with laryngitis.  :)

The convention was great.  I will have to post a picture of me with my merit print in awhile.  But I learned a lot, networked with some other great photographers, and had fun at the trade show.  Be on the lookout for some new products in a few weeks!

In other news, registration for my first 2007 workshop is now open.  Check out the photographer's blog for more information.

Hope y'all had a great ice day (or two) and that everyone stayed safe and warm!

Imaging USA

Did you know that the Professional Photographers of America's national convention is in San Antonio this weekend?  Stop by and see some of the best images in the country.

I will be out of the office until Wednesday, and will get back to everyone's calls and emails then.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and stays safe in the crazy weather that is supposed to be coming.  Do y'all really think we have a chance for snow?

Breaking news...

Wow, how dramatic does that sound?  ;)  I just finalized plans to speak for the Professional Photographers of Louisiana's Winter Workshop on Feb 25th and 26th in Baton Rouge, so I will be gone for that weekend and into the next week just a little.  I'll be back in time for the kid's birthdays and the JL Rummage sale, though (don't worry, Alycia!).  I am so excited about this opportunity to help give back some of what I've learned from these amazing photographers.  Love you guys!

On another note, Christy, here is an image to tide you over.  You have email.  :)9044_1

Rummage!

Hey, y'all.

Things are finally settling down from Christmas and I finally got to actually talk to a few of you on the phone this week -- instead of us talking to each other's voice mails.  ;)  To all of you who have called or emailed, I am catching up!

I wanted to share with y'all something I'm doing this year.  I have been working with the Junior League, and now we have finally gotten to one of our big annual events -- the Rummage Sale.  It's like a huge garage sale, but you can find some amazing pieces.  Working in the warehouse, I have already seen five or six (or seven or eight) things I MUST have for the studio, and I have also seen some great clothes and shoes and housewares items come through as well.

The date for the sale is March 1-4 at Freeman Colesieum.  BUT, as I know this is a "fresh start" cleaning out time of year, if you have some items you'd like to donate to the sale let me know.  The deadline to donate is the end of next week, so if you'd like to get things in to me I can take them to the League.  They accept clothing, furniture, kitchen stuff, appliances... just about everything.  Call me at the studio if you'd like more info.

And thanks!  I hope y'all are having a great week and enjoying this beautiful weather (and cedar laced air).  ;)
